Dear Mr. Ankit, I am a SSI unit manufacturing & exporting our produced WEIGHTS since 1972 from a far located backward place of Jharkhand. My suggestion is if your customer is serious then you should procure buyer's financial status through either ECGC or your banker. They will charge a nominal fee and will take 30 to 45 days time. Thanks, Surendra Singhania

Dear Ankit ji,
There is no hard and fast rule for your question because there are fraudsters all over.
However, the firdt thing you should consider is the selling of your product.
There are some genuine intrests and some people just wish to cheat you.
You can take advantage of embassy's help to check the genuinity.
Also there are many simple rules
1. If anybody ask you to pay any smallest amount of money for any reason, chances are the person can be a cheat.
2. If you have an establish contact e.g. a friend or relative, ask him to verify the buyer by locating his business address physically.
3. Ask the buyer certain questions in the form of a questionnaire, which you can design based on your company's requirements.
4. Donot immediatly reply, delay for a short while and see whether you gets a reminder from the so called buyer. If he is a genuine buyer, he shall send you a reminder.
5. Ask the buyer to visit you in person at his/her own expenses.
6. Ask his bank details and may be your bank can write a confidential letter to buyer's banker to verify the genuiness of the buyer.
7. Ask the buyer to produce a reference letter from his bank and let your bank verify it.
I hope I tried to answer your question, however checklist can be endless. Try your best. Goodluck.

Thanks Mr Dev Raj Sharma for a clean checklist. Helpful. I would also like to add one more thing that scares a lot of fraudster away.
I usually tell them,"I have a friend in your region who would come and take care of the deal on my behalf, if that's OK with you". Most of the cheaters never replies you back after this.
Moreover, I have another suggestion. I also think there should be a black-list trading database where all the members (with a nominal fee) should fill in the details of fraud people. How many phone numbers are the fraudsters going to change anyways? I think it will save a lot of time Googling about every buyer who sends us inquiry.
Good time trading. Good luck to all of us.
