TOPIC : How to approach new customers?
Posted on 25 October 2008 at 19:00:00

Hi All,
Can anyone give me tips on how we can approach the unit/ customer/ office/ client when we have no internal link with the office. If I just want to approach and want to tell them my service is better than others and cheaper in the market?

Normally I get answer we already have a vendor and we are satisfied with his service they thing talking about new vendor is wastage of time ...in this scenario, how we should approach?

Dear Mr.Raju

I gone through your topic for approach to new customers in my view following step to be taken for approach the new customers.

It is but natural that new customers/clients will not known to you and may not be convinced barely. In this case we have to show the list of renowned customers /clients of that areas who have deals with you. Then he may be faith to u.

Problem with the beginner is how to have renowned customer list. Starting with to satisfy first small customers and using that list, one can have renowned customers in his list.

I am sorry it took me 2 years to post :) .
But a simple solution for this problem mentioned by Mr Raju here is to first find out who the vendor is.

And then compare his service with the vendor`s service and figure out as many points where you score over the vendor.

Give a sample service test to the customer proving your efficiency in your service.

Just being cheap doesn`t mean that you`ll provide quality services.
You have to be cheap and at PAR against the current vendor only then you can prove that you have better service then the current vendor and at cheaper price.
Price is not always the determining factor.

Also try using incentive schemes. :)

Also I would like to mention one thing here is do figure out that the current vendor is not any relative of the client you are trying to get. Thats how businesses in India work.

Have a great day.
