I would like to ask all 'why we cannot have the best manufacture of Hospitality Linen in India compared to China.'
India grow lots of raw cotton and still we can not get the best deal from Manufacture and Supplier from India.

All issues in India boil down to corruption that has become standard business practice. And, if one is caught, justice is not served. Lack of communication in the market place creates localized monopolies.
I have been importing from China for 5 years and have not lost money from fraud yet. I am careful but Chinese have a better integrity in business than the Indians. We have to have better oversight to remove fraudulent merchants. And, to severely punish the fraudulent ones.

I'm quite glad to see the former reply as a Chinese. Maybe you are right, but I believe there are also honest person in India as I contacted before when we import to them.
This topic's answer I guess the author wants to know is the economic policy, method and different situation of the two country. But I'm new to the textile field, I will offer none opinion toward it.

There are ways which you can look into the aspects and the line of your questioning. First the quality of the harvest and treated cottons, secondly how much have the owners invested in the R & D, new equipments and other set parameters they have achieved? In most cases, they are contended of what they are doing all this while. They need to understand the market demands and requirements and re-engineer themselves and be relevant to the market.

My comments are because of my own experience starting a business in India. I paid duties I should not have paid. And, had to pay to customs officials to get legally imported items. I paid counter vialing duties when the book said none need to be paid. I paid warehousing charges because of purposeful delays by customs. I could not compete because others imported by the truckloads and paid little duties but paid bribes.
My partner exports designer dresses. His shipment always gets short unless he pays to custom officials. He ships 20 but customs only finds 19. But they find the missing one after bribes are paid.
Our corruption is systematized. It is part of doing business. It costs some 50% more to produce in India then in China. Of course, large companies manage but small enterprises are not competitive in international trade.
Their is corruption in China, but they execute the guilty. India cannot grow unless corruption is managed.

The corruption described in last message not only exists in China, but also in many other countries...also in India. I have heard from my India client.
