TOPIC : Suggestions required while quoting the right price

Hello friends,

I have just started a trading business. I have a buyer from South Africa and he has asked for fob price. What all prices are included in fob. Is the loading charges in container included? If so is it better to load the briquettes from manufacturing unit and directly transport it to nearest port. What are the charges for 1 fcl 40ft and 20ft? Please advice!

DEAR Mr.RAHUL,
I FOUND THIS ANSWER SUITABLE FOR YOUR QUERRY
The FOB (Free on Board) price is inclusive of Ex-Works price, packing charges, transportation charges upto the place of shipment., Seller also responsible for o clear customs dues, quality inspection charges, weight measurement charges and other export related dues. It is important that the shipment term in the Bill of Lading must carry the wording "Shipped on Board' it must bear with signature of transporter or carrier or his authorized representative with the date on which goods were "Boarded".

Seller :Seller responsible for clear customs dues, quality inspection charges, weight measurement charges and other export related dues. It is important that the shipment term in the Bill of Lading must carry the wording "Shipped on Board' it must bear with signature of transporter or carrier or his authorized representative with the date on which goods were "Boarded".

Buyer : The buyer indicates the ship and pays freight, transfer expenses and risks is done when the goods passes or forwarding to the buyers warehouse by rail or ship.
I HOPE YOUR QUERRY WILL GET THE DESIRED REPLY FROM THIS.

Dear Mr.Mehta,

FOB price means 'the price excluding freight charges' i.e. Ocean Freight or Airfreight. but have to pay local T.H.C. (Terminal Handling charges) & BL documentation charges & Custom Clearing charges.

Your second question is what are the charges for 1 FCL 40ft & 20ft ? - For Export from one country to another country you have to pay Freight charges for that goods [like transportation charges]. The cargo load in to the containers like 20ft & 40ft containers for sea shipment.

If you need FCL charges for 20' & 40' container then you have to provide Destination name [Port name] to us we can provide you freight charges for the same.

Dear Mr.Rahul,

FOB price means the cost of material excluding Freight & Insurance.

Pl note 20'& 40'charges means Freight rate from Load Port to Destination Port for that you have to provide us destination (Port) name.

Hi Rahul,

People have been kind to clarify most of your doubts. However, its best to catch hold of a Freight Forwarder (shipping agent) and give him your ex-works packing list. He'll do the rest from your door. You can always negotiate the price. Also, I find these days its possible to quote in Indian rupees and receive the payment thus, if you bank agrees to give you an IRC. You can be more competitive and avoid exchange rate stress. Good Luck. If you want me to suggest a FF send an email.
