Polyester microfiber may be treated with a specific coating to make it waterproof making it an excellent choice for umbrellas. Synthetic polyurethane laminate is a sturdy fabric that can be made of either polyester or cotton or a combination of the two. Full-proof and air-permeable. Get them with anywhere from one to three layers with the latter typically including some extra fabric for stability. Use certain raincoats year-round since their linings are removable. Light rain may be braved while wearing these jackets with confidence but don't count on coming back unscathed from a serious outing. Even raincoats that are supposed to be water-resistant will become wet in a downpour.
