Synthetic polyurethane laminate is a sturdy fabric that can be made of either polyester or cotton, or a combination of the two. Full-proof and air-permeable. Get them with anywhere from one to three layers, with the latter typically including some extra fabric for stability. Use certain raincoats year-round since their linings are removable. Light rain may be braved while wearing these jackets with confidence, but don't count on coming back unscathed from a serious outing. Even raincoats that are supposed to be water-resistant will become wet in a downpour.
