Metal strip is a narrow thin stock that typically has a thickness of no more than 3/16 inch (4.76 mm) and a width of no more than 24 inches (609.6 mm). Metal strips can be manufactured to meet specific criteria for their thicknesses and/or widths. The production of strip steels involves first hot rolling the material to thicknesses of at least 2 millimeters and then cold rolling the material to the appropriate final thickness.
