Q. What Is The Main Difference Between A Hoist and A Crane?
Answer
A crane can move things both up and down and side to side while a hoist can only move things down. A crane can lift and lower objects but a hoist can only move them vertically. The latter consists of a hoist for vertical motion a trolley for horizontal motion and a bridge for the two to meet in the middle.
