Q. What is the difference between vindaloo and masala?

Biju Thomas of Denver's Biju's Little Curry Shop recommends mixing up the sauce and ordering vindaloo instead of tikka masala. It's spicy but it also has a lot of bright acidic and vinegar-tinged undertones. It contrasts with tikka masala which while excellent is creamy and rich.
