Q. What is strip material?
Answer
Strip steel often known as cold rolled strip is manufactured from pickled hot rolled strip. After that the coil undergoes reduction in either a straight or reversing mill on a single stand of a cold roll steel mill or on a series of such stands in a tandem mill. The strip is cold-rolled to a thickness close to the ultimate thickness either directly or with an intermediate annealing operation to permit further cold reduction or to acquire the appropriate mechanical qualities. More annealing and cold reduction processes are needed for high carbon strip steel.
