Q. What is kadaknath chicken?
Answer
The Kadaknath, also known as the Kali Masi (bird with black flesh), is a rare and beautiful black chicken breed. The animal's bones and internal organs share a dark color with the meat. Its eggs are also dark in color. Melanin pigmentation is responsible for its dark hue. The protein content is significantly higher at 25–27% compared to the 18% found in other chicken breeds. Cholesterol levels in the breed are said to be between 0.73 and 1.05%, compared to the normal range of 13-25%.
