A nebulizer uses pressured air to inhale the liquid medication. Even while people with asthma frequently use both nebulizers and inhalers a nebulizer may be more convenient to use on occasion especially for younger children who may not yet have mastered the necessary technique for an inhaler. An inhaler is preferable to a nebulizer when time is of the essence such as during an asthma attack when airflow is restricted.
