Q. What exactly is a hydraulics intensifier?
Answer
A hydraulic intensifier is a machine that uses hydraulic pressure to increase the efficiency of hydraulic power at lower pressures. These pressure amplifiers work on the principle of a piston with the larger piston pushing the smaller piston to increase pressure by a factor equal to the ratio of their respective piston areas. There will never be an inconsistency between the pressure supplied and the pressure at the outflow. A hydraulic intensifier can reduce the cylinder size while simultaneously boosting the pressure in a hydraulic system. This is helpful for devices like jacks that would suffer from the use of an excessively large cylinder.
