Q. Is georgette fabric good for embroidery?
Answer
Silk and natural materials are best for use in embroidery, although it also depends on the skills. If one is very skillful, then the material becomes obsolete. However, the silk material has a matte, drab appearance and is thin and lightweight. The tightly twisted strands used to weave crêpe georgette give the fabric's surface a gentle crinkle. Comparable to silk chiffon, another form of crêpe fabric, silk georgette has a tighter weave and is hence less transparent than chiffon. Although georgette fabrics may be patterned and sometimes feature vibrant flower motifs, they are also occasionally found in plain hues. Various thread work, zari work, and embroidery work can be easily done on this fabric.
