Q. How does salt-based water softener work?
Answer
Salt-based water
softener works through an ion exchange system whereby heavy minerals in
incoming water such as like calcium and magnesium are drawn into a resin within
the softener and then exchanged for sodium ions (salt). These softeners
altogether remove the heavy minerals from the water to return water to a
healthy state of neutrality.
