Q. How does a ball screw functions?
Answer
A ball screw transmits rotational motion to linear motion. The threaded shaft provides a helical channel for ball bearings to travel or roll (recirculate motion) inside a ball screw to distribute and transmit the load evenly while reducing the internal friction. The ball assembly acts as a nut while the shaft is the screw.
