Georgette is a transparent translucent woven silk fabric with a somewhat wrinkled texture and a lovely flow. At the start of the 20th century france was the first country to use silk crêpe fabric. Ever since it has established itself as an essential element of haute couture especially in evening and wedding attire. A form of crêpe fabric known as georgette is normally created from pure silk although it may also be produced from other synthetic materials.
