Data Concentrator Unit: A dcu will be installed per sub-station, dcu is an intelligent device with built-in rs 485 converter/lpr module to acquire data from mius & built-in gsm/gprs to transmit data to the data acquisition server interfaced with data logger pc.

Meter Interface Unit: Miu is an intelligent device with built-in rs485 converter/lpr module connected to an electronic energy meter by means of optical port/serial communication cord to collect data at regular intervals of time. Specially designed secured algorithms in miu are not only to read the meters of different makes and models with proprietary or open domain protocols but also for validating and transmitting the data on real time basis/on schedule/on demand to the data concentrator unit (dcu).
