In this unit provisions are made to study the working conditions of Chopper with R, RL and Motor loads.
Main and auxiliary thyristor trigger pulses are brought out separately. Provisions for internal and external triggering are also given. Both frequency and duty cycle variations are provided. Firing unit comprising of pulse, ramp, comparator, timer, pulse amplifier and power circuit are internally built and test points are brought out at various stages. Two SCRs, two diodes, and LC commutation is provided. SCR and diodes are protected from large current and dv/dt by means of fuse and snubber circuit. DC field supply is internally built and brought out to run DC Motors. To observe the output signal on CRO, BNC connectors are provided.
