Electro-Luminescent Lamps are devices which convert electrical energy into light or luminescence by applying AC voltage across electrodes. An organic phosphor with colored overlays is sandwiched between two conductors and as the electric current is applied, it rapidly charges phosphor particles, which emits visible light.
