Drainage Spout - Application: Bridge

1. Scope

This specification covers the design, materials, fabrication, finishing, and installation of Drainage Spouts for bridges, flyovers, viaducts, and other elevated structures.
The drainage spouts shall be designed to collect and discharge surface runoff water from the bridge deck, ensuring effective drainage and protection of structural components such as bearings, girders, and substructure elements.

2. General Description

A Drainage Spout is a fabricated or cast outlet unit installed at designated deck drain or scupper locations.
It conveys surface water through the deck slab to a discharge point below, thereby preventing water accumulation and damage to the bridge deck and structural members.

The drainage system shall be designed for:

Watertight performance,

Corrosion resistance,
