Our range of Distillation Trays are normally the lowest cost vapour-liquid contacting device for mass transfer in large scale operations.
We, at Fenix Process Technologies Pvt. Ltd., design and manufacture all types of conventional Distillation Trays of any size, except certain proprietary types. Any metallic material that can be punched and bent can be used as the material of construction.
There are many types of tray designs from FenixAR , but the most common are sieve trays, valve trays and bubble cap trays. Sieve Trays are however inexpensive to manufacture and are therefore usually the most economic device where substantial turndown is not necessary. Bubble cap trays have risers and chimneys on the perforations while the sieve trays dona t have it. The modern and more efficient trays are valve trays.

Valve trays have perforations covered by moveable/liftable discs, valves or caps. This facilitates continually varying tray open area as may be required with changing vapour load. The flow of vapour lifts the caps, thus self creating a flow area for its passage.

The lifting cap directs the vapour to flow horizontally into the liquid, thus providing better mixing than is possible in other trays.

Valve trays come in two types : Fixed Valve Tray and Moving or Floating valve Tray.

Because of their efficiency, wide operating range, ease of maintenance and cost factors, sieve and valve trays have replaced the bubble cap trays in most applications.
