Fly menace in poultry is a real nuisance causing economic loss to the poultry farmer world wide. One adult fly couple can produce 76 billion files in 6 weeks indicates the essentiality of fly control in poultry farm.
Many pathogens associated with the fly that cause disease in poultry. This include salmonella, colibacillosis, chronic respiratory disease (C R D) and coryza.

The attributing factor for the files getting attracted in poultry farm because of warm, wet, fresh litter produced by birds and poultry farm is ideal ecosystem for fly development. Adult files lay their eggs in the litter where they quickly hatch into rapidly growing maggots with their pupate and produce new generation of files.
