Copper ore is an ore which can be smelted in a furnace along with a piece of tin ore to create a bronze bar. Copper ore, along with tin ore, are the first ores a player can mine using the Mining skill, and requires level 1 Mining.

Copper rocks can be found in various mines across Rune Scape. Copper along with Tin is mainly used for smithing beginners. Beginners mistake copper ore as the unrefined form of a "copper bar", this is not true, as copper ore can only become a bronze bar with a smithing level of 1 and a tin ore. If a player buys tin and copper ore from the Grand Exchange to make and sell a bronze bar, they will make a profit of 56 coins. Copper ore is used to create copper bar which can then be crafted into finished items at a forge.
