Our products undergo strict verification process before it reaches the end consumer. Our method of processing of coconut oil is entirely different from other manufacturers and we proudly introduce Virgin Coconut Oil by Direct Micro Expelling ( DME ) technology . Silver Oil Mills is a company founded by Mr. P.A Thomas, with a vision of serving food products with high quality and with zero adulteration, to the society. Since its inception back in 1992, we have realized and taken up the mission of promoting good health to all through healthy food.

Our Coconut oil captured the market very soon, and when the production did not suffice the demand, we thought of increasing the production and, by 2002 the factory was upgraded with higher capacity machines and the production was doubled. Also the company started exporting coconut and coconut products to different parts of the world.

Year by year, our customer base proliferated and the trust of our customers in us gave us a new life to our activities and a new unit of the company started in 2010 with state-of-the art machineries and as a result, the production has been further increased and the quality has been made excellent. This new unit was inaugurated by Prof. K.V Thomas (Minister of State in the Ministry of Agriculture and Minister of State in the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Central Govt. of India).

Production
Silver Oil Mills are the manufacturers of premium quality coconut oil and virgin coconut oil under the band name of Silver Drop. Our method of processing of coconut oil is entirely different from other manufacturers. The distinction starts from preparation of copra itself which is different from traditional methods of others as firstly we make good quality copra.

We collect selected matured nuts with the best of quality from selected area of gardens and from healthy palms. To ensure quality, we have made prior arrangements with farms and we pay premium price for them too. Kernel is converted into copra by using modern copra dryers, and we do not use chemicals like Sulphur & Smoke and so we get good and top quality copra with moisture content less than 5%. Our copra drying systems, expelling systems, processing area, storage area, and packing areas are maintained in extreme hygienic conditions. And we monitor in every stage of processing, the net result we will get with super quality coconut oil with good aroma and long shelf life.

Coconut Oil
Coconut oil is extracted from the kernel or meat of matured coconut harvested from the coconut palm (Cocos nucifera). Throughout the tropical world it has provided the primary source of fat in the diets of millions of people for generations. It has various applications in food, medicine, and industry. Coconut oil is very heat stable so it makes an excellent cooking and frying oil. It has a smoke point of about 360 F. Because of its stability it is slow to oxidize and thus resistant to rancidity, lasting up to two years due to high saturated fat content.

Virgin Coconut Oil

What is Virgin Coconut Oil?
Any coconut oil made from a non-copra style of extraction can be called virgin organic coconut oil. When done properly it doesn't need to be heated or fermented to remove moisture.

DME or Direct Micro Expelled

Silver Oil Mills uses the DME method to produce virgin coconut oil, which is considered to be the best in the industry. DME describes a process in which the oil is extracted directly from the kernel. The coconut kernel is first shredded and dried in an oven to about 10 to 12% moisture. The dried, shredded coconut is then placed into a press and the oil is expelled. The high level of moisture left from the kiln/oven drying process needs to be removed from the oil. If the moisture is not removed it can cause the oil to go rancid extremely fast. Depending on the manufacturer/farmer that is doing the extraction, the oil may be heated or fermented to remove the remaining moisture.
