Dol, the Managing Director and founder of Dol Group, after 14 years
of tenure in Quality
Control Dept. at Siemens Ltd., Kalwa, founded his own company in
1978. The company operations
started at Thane in a 300 sq. ft. shed, in the name of "General
Electric".

As
a result of the technical expertise and quality service being offered
by the company, the business increased substantially and was shifted
to a new plot of 11000 sq. ft. The new unit, Dol Group (henceforth called Dol Electric), was inaugurated on January 18,
1990. By the year 2007, another 11000 sq. ft. unit was setup and
commissioned with in-house m/c shop facilities to achieve higher
accuracy. The total area for service shop is 22000 sq. ft., handling
motors up 10 MW, 13800 V.

Today,
Dol Electric is an authorized service centre for
multinational such as Siemens (India & Germany), SIMO (China),
Leroy Somer (France) and undertakes refurbishment of large HT, LT, DC
Motors and Generators. Dol Electric has also partnered with Siemens
for refurbishment of Power Plants all over India. Till date Dol
Electric has successfully completed refurbishment of Durgapur
(5units), Korba (6 units), Ukai (1 unit) and Patratu (1 unit). Dol
Electric also provides a reliable service support to corporate and
power plants such as Reliance, Ispat, Jindal, TAPS, IPCL, SUZLON,
KOEL, NPCIL etc. Because of its excellent
craftsmanship, Dol Electric was offered a winding job of Wind Mill
Generator of 350 KW, 600 KW and 1.25 MW. WMG windings started with 4
nos. per month in 2003. Dol achieved an output of 50 nos. per month in
2006.

Dol
Motors Pvt. Ltd., a new sister concern, was established for
the manufacture of Electric Motor, by Mr. Suresh Dol (Founder & Director)
in the year 2004. The production started in January 2005, in the
premises of Group Company Dol Electric, in a humble way with 30
motors being assembled in the first month. This has now grown to
approx. 600 nos. per month. By the year 2009, Dol Motors had manufactured
over 23,000 motors. With a bag full of
experience in the electrical industry, Dol Group has now entered into
manufacturing of Oil Cooled Distribution Transformers rated from 500
kVA to 5000 kVA with rated system voltage levels of 33 kV, 22 kV &
11 kV / 433 V. Dol Transformers Pvt. Ltd. is also a registered company.
