About Us

The Amla Producer Development Organization(registration
is under process) is a farm based producer organization of small,
marginalized and underprivileged women farmers and outcome of federation
of SHGs of the women farmers dependent on agriculture, horticulture and
animal husbandry activities for their livelihood is formed and promoted by SPECTRA and LetzDream Foundation. The Amla
Producer Development Organization (APDO) has been encouraging and aiming
to scale up to touch the lives of marginalized and underprivileged
women farmers in Kishangarh Bas block of Alwar district, Rajasthan. All
the members of the Producer Organization working in the targeted
backward and remote villages in the block and the endeavor is for
providing support to the existing livelihoods of women farmers and
diversification of their livelihood portfolio, thereby positively
impacting and improving their income and household security, and quality
of life.

SPECTRA Org is a professionally managed organization engaged in capacity building of communities and is proactive in developing issue based networking. The main focus of SPECTRA Org is to create opportunities for the poor and needy for them to fight with their day to day problems and live a life of dignity and respect. Child rights, women empowerment and awareness generation, food security, environment stabilization, education, sanitation, rural industries for income generation, and empowerment of the community for self-sustenance constitute the main elements of SPECTRA Org's mission. Child and women rights, natural resource management, gender justice, and livelihood security are our principal areas of concern. SPECTRA Org is a not-for profit and voluntary development organization engaged in rural upliftment and development work in the Alwar district of Rajasthan, India since 1996-97. The region falling under the purview of project focus has predominantly Mew population with agri-based economy. The main issue in this region is that two-third of the population is landless labourers, and only 40% of males and 20% of females are literate. Given this grim situation, SPECTRA took came forward to help the poor peasants and make them self-sustaining through a host of community programmes. To initiate the good works, the organization began its mission by Installation of hand pumps for drinking water, agricultural improvement, sanitation, education, wasteland development, and rural industries for income generation, development of alternative energy sources, and women empowerment and awareness generation.

SPECTRA has been implementing Integrated Developmental Program (IDP), a focused livelihoods program supported by LetzDream Foundation, leveraging support and resources from various Government departments and schemes since more than two years. The Project aims to establish the feasibility of sustainably increasing agricultural productivity and farmers income through a distinct agricultural development approach by integrating agriculture water management and agricultural technology, farmer organizations, dairy development, livestock management and market innovations in selected locations which are agro-ecological zones of Alwar district of Rajasthan.

LetzDream Foundation (LDF) is a
non-profit organization that extends its support to facilitate
innovative developmental
projects in resource development, capacity building, ensures
sustainability, scalability and especially supporting social innovation
projects in Alwar district, working towards a model district approach.
Besides, LetzDream Foundation supports various organizations across
India.

In the initial years, the prime goal of Spectra was to improve the health of underprivileged women in rural areas by offering gender sensitive management training to health coordinators while stressing on the need to develop self-help system. The organization recognized that women have been contributing well to health care both at the household and community levels.

We emphasized on the overall improvement of women in the sphere of education, health, capacity building and sanitation as providing them training in these fields would reap in much dividends. A learned woman would pass on the good habits and manners to her children, and ultimately an entire family would become couth and cultured. By providing better information about general upkeep and health care, we focused on achieving our objective of reducing child mortality rate. Gradually, the programme's focus shifted towards prevention of unwanted pregnancy, maternity issues, information about reproductive health among youngsters, treatment of reproductive infections and problems concerning childless couples.
