A paddle wheel aerator pumps water to paddy fields for semiaquatic crops positioned 0.5 m above the water source. Paddlewheels is used to propel the watercraft. Acting as a waterwheel it is used to generate hydroelectric power. It is also used for pond aeration purpose.
