The wealthy ones used to wear all white to prove that they could afford to keep it clean. Similarly hotels use white linen to show their luxury though even less luxurious hotels use white linen too. It is also believed that a white bed creates a “halo effect” and makes the guest think their room has been recently renovated. There is also one practical aspect for hotels using white bed sheets. The all-white color theme goes into the bathroom accessories also- towels and bathrobes. When hotel staff does the laundry they do not have to worry about any colors running as they can wash bed linens towels and any other dirty fabrics in the same washing machine.And in worst cases when the bed sheet is stained beyond recognition white sheets can be easily bleached.
