Q. Where is piezometer installed?
Answer
Pneumatic piezometers are often installed in boreholes, either alone at a known depth, in groups at different depths, or next to an inclinometer to measure slope. PPs are occasionally installed in a shallow trench before to the placement of embankment fill. The quickest and easiest way to gauge the level of a reservoir or tailwater is with a staff gauge. The accuracy and longevity of staff gages are assured. A float and recorder, bubbler, ultrasonic sensor, or any of the other devices are required for automatic monitoring. The gauge pressure of a system may be determined by observing how high a column of liquid can be lifted against the force of gravity. Piezometric height is the height of the liquid column as measured by a piezometer.
