Common applications include flooring, wall covering, and grave markers. Stone slabs or dry stones are typically used to build corridors that provide entrances to their buildings. The anteroom may be square, rectangular, polygonal, oval, or circular, and it may precede a burial chamber of varying shape. A doorway may be carved into one or more vertical stone slabs at the entrance of some dolmens. Inscriptions are typically located on the front, although they can also be seen on the back (or verso) and down the sides.
