Plastics (the synthetic materials used to make PVC doors) are infinitely recyclable. In comparison to doors made from wood fiber they have a less ecological footprint. As a filler the wood fiber doors are typically produced from low-quality or rejected lumber. PVC and wood fiber doors are both hefty. Wood fiber doors on the other hand put their screws under more strain because the door's infill isn't robust enough to firmly hold the screws.
