Q. What is the difference between multimode & single mode fiber optic cables?
Answer
Multimode fiber optic cables carry multiple infrared rays at the same time in the larger core glass (62.5 & 50 microns) that is best for less than a kilometer range, whereas single mode fiber has smaller core size i.e., 9 microns & has a single light path than enables it to cover larger distance of up to 100 km like telephone, cable TV, LAN etc.
