Q. What is the difference between ingots & billets?

Aluminium ingots are formed by casting a shape from molten aluminium that freezes back into a solid form with varying cross-sectional area whereas billets are formed by continuous casting or extrusion of ingots to form a final product such as wire & bar stock.
