Q. What is the difference between cold rolled steel and hot rolled steel?
Answer
Plates and sheets that are rolled at a temperature higher than the steel recrystallization temperature is called hot rolled steel. When the sheets are further smoothened and rolled in cold rolling operations the steel is called cold-rolled steel.
