Q. What is the difference between 304 & 409 stainless steel plate?

304 SS has lower iron content & is non-magnetic whereas 409 SS has 90% iron content & is a magnet will stick to it. 304 SS lasts for 10 years without surface rusting but 409 lasts for 8-10 years with surface rusting that can be cleaned with a wire.
