In most private institutions, the average monthly cost of HD is approximately twelve to fifteen thousand rupees, and the annual cost of dialysis is close to one and a half lakh rupees. This roughly translates to about 2000 USD. This is a significant difference from the annual cost of 60,000 dollars in the United States and the United Kingdom. Even though India has the lowest prices in the world, more than ninety of Indians are still unable to purchase dialysis services.
