Q. What is the active ingredient in Difenoconazole?
Answer
Difenoconazole belongs to the class of dioxolanes and is a 1,3-dioxolane that has been substituted at position 2 with 2-chloro-4-(4-chlorophenoxy)phenyl and 1,2,4-triazol-1-ylmethyl. A innovative, broad-spectrum fungicide that can be applied as a spray or as a seed treatment. Humans, mammals, birds, and most aquatic species all find it somewhat harmful. It is a xenobiotic, an inhibitor of EC 1.14.13.70 (sterol 14alpha-demethylase), and an antifungal agrochemical. It acts as both a conazole fungicide and a triazole fungicide, in addition to being an aromatic ether and a dioxolane.
