A soft gelatin capsule consists of a gelatin based shell that surrounds a liquid fill. In the manufacturing process, the shells are a combination of gelatin, water, opacifier and a plasticiser such as glycerin or sorbitol. The process with which these capsules are made is called encapsulation through the use of the Rotary Die Encapsulation process.
