A mass air flow sensor often known as an airflow meter is a device used to quantify airflow velocity. In other words the speed of air is what an air meter measures. Airflow meters are not only able to measure the air's velocity but also its pressure. The wind's direction can be determined by some airflow meters. After then these sensors are strategically positioned in the middle of the current. The wire's resistance decreases as it cools off in the air current. This decrease in wire resistance represents an indication of the current speed through the wire. Hot wire mass airflow sensors are used in hotwire air flow meters to determine the volume of air passing through the meter in a certain time period.
