Base is the part holding the entire machine parts. It is a kind of foundation which is made up of cast iron. It has good strength and excellent rigidity that helps in the absorption of shocks because of the operation of milling machines. Column is the central supporting frame consisting of all the driving mechanism. The motor contained is called the column. The driving mechanism generally comprises a cone pulley in which the v-belt is employed to establish connection with the motor.
