Q. What are the basic properties of TPE?

Answer

TPEs materials behave similarly to thermoplastics in that they flow freely when heated and subjected to shear forces and return to their stable original form when cooled. TPE includes just physical cross-linking as opposed to the chemical cross-linking that takes place in thermoset rubbers and this cross-linking can be undone by adding more heat. Because of this all production waste can be reused and end-of-life items can be easily recycled.TPEs have an elastic property resembling that of cross-linked rubber. A Shore durometer scale is used to determine how soft or firm they are. Our TPEs come in a wide range of variations from ultra-soft gel-like materials with a Shore A hardness of 0 too rigid materials with a Shore D hardness of 65. Designers are increasingly using TPEs as their preferred material due to their design freedom excellent performance and simplicity of production. TPEs have a wide range of usage in the medical automotive construction electrical packaging and industrial areas and new applications for TPEs are constantly being developed.
