Q. Is mushroom is a Veg or non veg?

This is a rather interesting question. In reality mushrooms are a fungal growth. So it is a fungus. Therefore based on this logic it maybe be said that mushrooms are non veg however on the other hand mushrooms only grow on decaying matter and do not have any blood or beating heart in them. Thus it can be assumed to be a plant and thus it forms a vegetarian dish. In most of the places mushrooms are categorised in vegetarian section however strict vegetarians refrain from mushroom consumption as well.
