Q. Is it okay to install a heater in the bathroom?
Answer
Quite a few homes have either a gas or an electric heater installed in the space used for bathing. The usage of these is not known to pose any health risks. In a space that is not very large, closing the door while the gas heater is operating may take up the majority of the oxygen. In a space of this size, you should choose a gas heater that has a vent rather than an older one that does not have a vent. If you do not have an electric heater that is installed in your home and you decide to use a plug-in "space heater," be sure that the heater includes a safety tip-over button that will turn it off if it is knocked over. Also, be sure to keep it a safe distance from the bathtub and any other bodies of standing water. Last but not least, ensure that the front and top of the heater remain clear by following the directions printed on it. In most restrooms, doing that task will be challenging. Stay warm.
