Q. Is cordless iron also called wireless iron?
Answer
Yes a cordless iron is also called a wireless iron. However one must understand that this does not mean that cordless irons do not need a power source. Cordless irons work when they are placed on its base and the base is powered on from the plug source. This connection is corded. While the iron sits on the base it continues to heat up till it reaches the recommended temperature range for the selected fabric. After that the thermostat kicks in and disconnects the heating element from the source. The cordless iron can now be detached and used to iron the clothes elsewhere. Cordless iron gives the flexibility to the user to use the iron anywhere away from the plug source. In a corded iron the length of the power cord dictates where you need to place your ironing stand. Cordless iron frees you from this constraint.
