Q. Is cooking in aluminium safe?
Answer
Except for people with severe kidney issues using aluminum cookware for cooking is safe. Adults according to the World Health Organization can safely ingest up to an additional 50 milligrams of aluminum every day. Aluminum however can react with acidic foods such as tomatoes and vinegar when cooked. Only about 1-2 milligrams of it comes from aluminum cookware. There is no conclusive evidence linking aluminum and Alzheimer's disease. Aluminum is more likely to leach out of damaged or pitted cookware during the cooking process.
