In very mild form bleaching powder can
have a desirable cosmetic effect on the skin when used to treat certain skin
conditions. Non-volatile bleaching powder is used to lighten hair shades but
be warned that experimenting with bleaching powder for cosmetic uses without
full knowledge of the chemical properties can be very dangerous.
