Absorbent Cotton contains no harmful elements or is highly resistant to infestation by microorganisms due to being a natural fibre. Because of strong molecular structure and optimum dryness the cotton attracts no harmful microbes. Therefore pure cotton is nearly sterilized which is the reason no other fibrous material is used for stopping bleeding or using on open wounds.
