Q. Is a hypodermic needle a syringe?

No. A hypodermic needle is attached to the tip of a syringe which is a cylindrical tube consisting of a sliding plunger. They work in combination i.e. the plunger in syringe is pulled to draw in liquid medicine the needle is inserted into the skin and the plunger is pushed to force medicine into the skin via needle.
