Q. How long does rice husk take to decompose?
Answer
Without earthworms it might take a year or more for rice husks to decompose. When worms are present decomposition can be sped up by around four months. When the compost pile's contents can no longer be distinguished from soil the process is complete. It's bad composting practice to throw any kind of meat bones oil or fat onto the pile. These won't decompose easily will make the pile smell bad and will attract bugs. Glass plastic and metal should never be added to a compost pile. These are not compostable and might even be harmful if left in one. Neither sick plants nor weeds that are ripe with seeds should be introduced.
