In typical use, the battery will last for two to four hours. Two AAA alkaline batteries are required to power the laser and are included with the purchase. Although lamp projectors have undergone various modifications to increase their lifetime, with recent claims between up to 6000 hours, this is still a pittance when compared to the normal 20.000 hours lifespan of laser projectors. Lasers are superior to incandescent bulbs in terms of durability and reliability. When compared to traditional lighting, which dims over time, laser-based systems maintain a more consistent level of illumination that gradually fades out. The same may be said for accurate color reproduction.
